No, actually I have been told by multiple jobless folks over the
years that they don't want those jobs. There was one that hung
around in FIDO POLITICS (and maybe still does) that likes to complain about illegals taking jobs, but also about how his government

well you cant use any bbs people or fidonet people as examples. they are a bunch of crazy people.

My examples are from "real life," too.

assistance isn't enough. When I pointed out that they were hiring
fruit pickers in the SE US to replace the ones that were deported,
and suggested he could get a job like that, he didn't like that suggestion. He seemed offended that I would suggest it.

that's a racist thing though. you think all they do is pick fruit and clean toilets? they do all kinds of jobs and own properties.

No, I don't think that. The employer in question was looking for new hires
to pick fruit specifically because their work force had been
"cut by deporations" -- so I am taking their word for it.

who does those jobs that the 'illegals' do as americans? felons, people who take drugs, people who work under the table, double dipping from disability and working cash or people who want to make good money and arent afraid
    of hard work.

Yes, but in the cases I am refering to, the last sentence there would disqualify those Americans... they don't want to do any type of "hard work" because it is somehow beneath their long-unemployed arses.

Once you run out of felons, druggies, etc., who aren't afraid of hard work,
I suspect that leaves a whole lot of unfilled openings while the rest of
the "Americans without jobs 'cuz illegals" sit around and don't want those jobs.

people still do hard work. look at roofers. look at the trades.
    foundries are hard work.

people just don't want to work for the most part. that's why there's more
jobs than people. that illegals are taking our jobs thing is old hat.
go look up indeed and search for mfg jobs 30 bucks or better. there's tens of thousands in your area most likely.

in the end it gets sorted out. the employer offers more money and training and they fill positions.

get on the roofs and do the hard work here are latino.

Same here. Where I live, with hurricanes, we see our share of roofers.
Every single one is a Spanish-speaking Latino of some kind. I have no illusions about nearly all of their immigration status, and I don't
really care. They fill a huge need in our society and community.

when i lived with my ex i paid half to get her roof done.
i also was there watching the whole thing to make sure the job got done
right and to see what was going on because they changed crews.

it was all white folks that tore it down. then the roof got put on, there
was one white guy who was quite good at it. she had a smaller house.

when i rented a large colonial and the owner was required to redo the siding and the roof [historical area], the crews were all hispanic. they fucked up
my garden, actually ate the stuff out of it while they were working and stole my rakes, etc out of my back yard.

    it depends on the company.

really we are all brainwashed with racist views. it's not always mexicans doing shit work. there's good money in roofing and other types of work that people consider hard.

it's not always mexicans cleaning toilets, or cleaning period.
i had pt jobs cleaning and i worked along with americans who were hispanic
and were citizens and could speak english. the cleaning company at my old company was all hispanics and they fucked them on pay. had them work over
    with no overtime pay.

it just depends on the company.

It has got to the point here where if I was having a roof put on and the
guys doing the work were not latino, I would be concerned. ;)

those people are essentially 2nd class human wage slaves.

I was going to bring that up - that a lot make 'slave wages.'

i'm not so sure about that. it depends on the case.

My point is that there is a legal minimum wage, but if you
are hiring an illegal person 'under the table,' you can pay
what you want; they pretty much have to accept it. That's
    slave wages to me.

whatever. i'm not talking about how much people are paid.

I'm talking about people being exploited for political and other reasons. There's a reason why there's these racist stereotypes about illegal
immigrants and what jobs they do. it helps the narrative.
