pardon me for interjecting. Throwing my two cents in.

I'm a veteran, re-enlisted once, should've stayed in for life.

Voted Republican in every national level race since 1986, until 2016

Trump uses the language of junior-high students.
Pres. Trump has succeeded through alienation of our global allies, to cause serious riffs in our global commitments to peace.

The Democrats in the House embarass themselves. President Trump is deserving of a lot more than two articles. Additionally, the people of the US, like numbers. We don't like the calculus behind those numbers, but we like numbers. They would have done better to be specific and list 30+ articles than just 2.

The Senate is turning a blind eye to all of this and is letting aliances, some of which existed prior to WWII, be stressed or destroyed.

We, the people of the US, have lost the ability to listen to one another and debate their opinions. The political situation is an echo of us. Don't believe me? Just post an opposing opinion on social media and sit back.

We have become more polorized than at anytime in my 51+ years of life.

The change has got to start with us. And I don't want to hold hands with any of you. I just want to state my piece and not get my head chopped off.

This country was founded on compromise to the center. There is no more compromise. It's all one way or the other.

    Shame on us all.

? Really how so? Trump has been tough on China's unfair trade practices causing them to sign a better fair trade deal, Same with Mexico.
and he's forced other countries to pony up their share to NATO.
why should America be the world's police force?
Why should America Pay other countries bills?
OK Trump is causing a riff in the world and making these bastard coutries pay their share and make fair trade that's a good thing.

??? they really don't even have one true article of impeachment, all they're trying to do is give Trump a black eye (politically speaking) and interfere in his re-election bid, fortunatly it's hurting them not Trump.
Trump has done nothing even close to being worthy of impeachment.
Schiff is one of the dumbest clucks in congress.

You can't compromise with people who refuse to compromise. The majority has compromised far too long. That's how we got an education system that indoctrinates - not educates. That's how we got a Media that no longer reports the news - they report the Left-wing Narrative. That's how California went from most prosperous state to a s#!t hole (literally).

If you really think about it, I think you will realize that this
polorization started before Trump took office. I can remember mentioning
it to someone before I even knew Trump was going to run for nomination.
Being called deplorables did not help, either. I was not a Trump supporter when that was said, but I certainly was not voting for her after things she said. Hillary is basically a female version of Trump when it comes to the things she will say... maybe slightly more diplomatic, but Trump is not
someone to be compared to and feel like that is any real compliment.

Trump is the President, so I will support him when it comes to anything
being said against him which is simply outrageous. What you have said does
not fall into that category. Thank you for sharing, and thank you also for your service.

Non american here, so I have no horse in the race.

From the point of view of an outsider, I have to agree with the above. Some political groups have been abusing Identitary Politics to their advantage. They have indirectly divided the population into groups and told the most vulnerable ones that the problems are all the fault of another group.

That strategy is good for winning two or three elections, but at some point it has to burst. You cannot base your politics in blaming one of the biggest demographic group which also happens to be a big engine for the economy.

The country has always been at odds with one another. It just wasn't talked about. Everyone believed prejucice and bigotry was gone. What really did it for me was building a much needed a Wall. The Black lives matter movement and not standing during our national anthem. Letting terrorists in to our country is another problem. The USA does not have an open inventation for other countries to just waltz right in. White Lives matter. And you WILL respect our FLAG!

Anyone who tells you that is either a moron or is lying. The scandanavian countries are not, nor have they ever been, socialist.

What some of them have is a big welfare state supported by a CAPITALISTIC economy.

Denmark is often used as the example. They have a 50+% income tax rate. That's for the middle class, not the "rich".
On top of that, they have a 25% VAT (i.e. sales tax).

So, ya, they have a great "medicare for all" plan - that everyone, even the poor, pays for - through the nose.

They are not socialist economies. You might actually offend one if you call them that (unless they like the idea of being one someday). They are all free market economies that subsidize their welfare states with high taxes. They
all rank in the Top 30 for "market freedom," ahead of even Japan.

None of them (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland) have minimum wage laws, and Sweden even has school choice (something the same US folks which point to
them as socialist countries frown on). At least, this was all true as of
    2018.

The US politicians pointed to as "socialists" are advocating more
government involvement, and less free-market policies, than the Nordic countries have. If you want to cite true examples of socialism, you need to
be looking more towards such thriving economies as Cuba and Venezuela,
which used to have a lot more government involvement in free enterprise (at least until one of them pretty much colapsed).

No doubt. That eventually does not work because you wind up with not
enough people with fruits left to pay for the ones which don't. The only
way that "works" is if you do it like the USSR, China, and others did it...
by killing off large groups of citizens so that you don't have to pay for
them any more. That really didn't work too well either, though, because
Stalin often killed off those that were the most productive.
