I have been playing some roguelikes as of late, including the original Rogue. G
tta love the cheap deaths, the cursed items, having a high level character kill
d by a lvl 1 monster.
Back in the late 1980's/early '90's I got to where I was really good at
that game. Within the past couple of years, I installed a copy and, for
the life of me, never could get very far with it. I actually got really frustrated with it.
There is a guy at rlgallery.org that allows to play many of the early Rogue and roguelike variants online, if you want to relive your nostalgic years again.
I have most of them in the RPG section of AmigaCity.xyz as well...

That is cool! I would not consider Rogue a real RPG, but who cares :-PIt's a classic, what can you say :)

That's ok. I'm Old Skool and as far as I'm concerned now computer game can EVER be a true RPG, because your actions are restricted to what the programmers want you to be able to do. A TRUE RPG is totally free-form and you can haggle with the Game master on whether or not your ideas will work.
