Dio was sooooo goood with Rainbow.

The Man on the Silver Mountain. :)

I also love his solo career... Favorite song is probably
    'Strange Highways'... :)

I shall have to listen to that one. My favorite is "Rainbow in the Dark."

That's a great one as well.

Here's a fantastic "greatest hits" compilation of his:

Two other GREAT songs on there are "The Last in Line" and "Lock up
    the Wolves".

He was a wonderful person -- so humble, grateful for the life he had, funny, and generous. He did a lot of charity work in his short time here.

I am familiar with the first one for sure. It is good! Will have to give
    that other one a listen.

A lot of people don't think of hard-rock/heavy-metal performers that way,
but I have always heard he was a good guy. :)

It is funny the subject pops up. I have been listening to Rainbow's albums and that song was playing right now.

I actually prefer his solo career, but I like the Egypt song better myself. I think he played it very safe going solo, not doing anything weird or groundbreaking, but most of his stuff was very sloid.

MOTSM was a great song. You can hear on his solo efforts lots of previous stuff ripped off. The guitar on MOSM was used on his solo efforts (i think holy diver but can't remember exact song) almost verbatim.

    Catch The Rainbow
    Rainbow Eyes
    When A Woman Cries
    Don't Talk To Strangers

    Pure vocal beauty...
