Yep, OK. Not sure why he would say that, unless he meant to buy
alcohol or cigarettes or somethning. We all (including you) know that isn't true.

Yes, If you buy alchhol or tobacco you have to show id.
So Trump is correct.
Trump always baits the left.

Sure do you, just like you have to scan your rectal print to be able to walk outside in the U.S.
"The government says firms must take "reasonable steps" to keep kids off their platforms, and should use multiple age assurance technologies.
This conversation didnt start about "kids".
And I agree, kids should be outside kicking dirt, not glued to a screen.

Groceries. He said Groceries.
Where do I need to show my "hard ID"?
I would imagine you could get a photo of your state or government issued ID
(either by taking a photo of it with your smartphone or scanning it where a
scanner is available), and then upload the photo from the device you're
using. Or, if they're really strict, maybe they'd mave someone video chat
with you and you'd show them via webcam.
Huh?
I find it interesting that foreigners tell stories of what is needed to be done in Australia and how life here is bad because of it.
Normally I skip past this crap, but I thought I'd dig a bit deeper to see where people are getting their information from...
I think a lot of this is a case of "Let's eat Grandma!" vs "Let's eat, Grandma!" and intuition not questioning that the first comment seems odd.

Yes, but the president of my country doesn't know, and that's the
concern.

I made one on the copier at work, keep it folded up in my wallet - just in case.

It makes lefties extremely upset when you point out the homeless drunks that
cigarettes and alchohol are groceries, when my wife and I go grocery shoppin I buy myself some beer. beer = groceries.
When I go and buy avocados and Yerba Mate, I don't need to provide
ID.
Avocados = groceries.
Apparantly, when you saw "Lefties blah blah blah" you decided to
ignore the entire message, including the part where fusion recited
/exactly/ what the President said (which wasn't "groceries").
Spinning what was actually said into something else doesn't make
it true. :|
If you can honestly say you have never had to show your ID at a
"grocery store" before, while buying chewing tobacco, cigarettes,
or beer/wine/liquor (specific things that DO require showing of an
ID), then bless your soul. I doubt you can, though, after recently announcing you stopped drinking not too long ago.

Trump also equated showing ID at the gas station, something I've never
done. As for showing an ID at the grocery store, I suppose he should
have been clearer about showing ID at a grocery store when buying age-restricted items.
Maybe I'm wrong, but the intended message seemed to be you need to show
your ID at the grocery store (every time). At least I'm not the only
one, if that's the case.

Never once did he say "every time." It seemed to me as though he was listing off places that you occasionally need to show your ID, and then comparing that to people NOT wanting it for voting. Basically a WTF?! statement.

So he was saying only non-whites need to show ID when voting? :)

Not sure why you would imply that? Trump certainly didn't say anything even close to that.

It's a joke, read the message I quoted again.
It makes lefties extremely upset when you point out the
homeless drunks that walk around downtown in various cities
have no problem getting a state ID to continue to do what they
do. Yet somehow a sixteen year old kid with no intention of
getting a drivers license is somehow incapable, heck even put
through significant hardship in the course of getting an non-drivers-license state ID. Right.. So if these guys do just
fine using their ID at the grocery store and gas station for
boozin', why can't everyone else do it to vote?

The left doesn't want accountability for their actions. They prefer
to do what's right in their own eyes...laws and law enforcement be
damned. That's also why they want to defund the police, and want
nothing to do with religion. In short, without laws, you have anarchy.
It has nothing to do with anarchy, it has more to do with having appropriate resources. But the right called it "defunding the police", and that's where we are.

The democratic party really shit the bed on the whole "defund the
police" thing. The idea was to increase mental health resources for homeless people instead of throwing them out on the street and having
law enforcement deal with them. There's no funding for mental health assistance, so someone decided, maybe we could take funding from law enforcement, since they'll have less to do in urban areas.

I lived and worked in San Francisco and Oakland for many years. I've
seen people on the streets committing crimes, harassing people or
leremy sleeping and panhandling that belonged in mental care
facilities, not jail. In fact, many of them had been in institutions
that could no longer afford to keep them.
Because there's no mental health resources available, the cops get the call - and they're not well equipped to handle them.
I remember the Kelly Thomas incident in Fullerton where they did not know ho to deal with a person that has mental issues and ended up beating him senseless where he died.
Big cities are not fun when you have to deal with people with schizo type issues.
I feel sorry for the bus drivers who have to transport these people at 1am.
