I was looking up the symptoms recently, and a sore throat was not one of the https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/symptoms.html
Recently I was sick, and I also had a sore throat as one of my symptoms.

Yeah, I've heard there is a lot of misinformation. The page listing symptoms that I posted earlier is from the CDC, which I'd hope is a
fairly reliable source though.

That's why some doctors are calling for random checking to see how many people have the anti-bodies in their blood.I would love to pay for a test for shits and giggles to see if I was infected.

I'm also curious as to see if I test positive. At first before this went into the "this crud is serious, keep your ass home" order came in, I was making rounds to quite a few shops and social places such as bars.
I don't want to find out the hard way, though.

I already know some people one removed that have died, and one friend who is a vent at 32 years of age going on a month in the hospital. I'm also trying not to find out the hard way here.
the people who are dying are at risk. at one of my jobs a coworker has a nephew in his early 30s who wrote his will last week and is not expected to make it. it's possible this person had preexisting conditions but they didnt ask.

well it's a waste of money and resources to test people just because they want to know. i would suggest just acting like you do have the virus if you have concerns.

so if you are at risk, err on the side of caution.
I have a co-woker who had it (tested positive), recovered, and then died a week later of a heart attack. It appears the virus attacks the heart. He was not "at risk", had no preexisting conditions and in his 50's.

I got a flu shot once in 1999 and immediately got one of the worst flus I ev had. The irony is that my employer paid for it, and I had to stay home from work since I was so sick.
my mom worked in healthcare and had to get the flu shots and other shots. she got the flu atleast once per year.

well now they are saying that there can be heart damage due to the immune system's response to the infection. inflammatory response of cytokines.
If you're posting from your BBS via a QWK offline reader, maybe you
need to turn those QWK kludges off in your personal QWK configuration.

I hate to be the one to tell you that this is correlation and not causation. Scientifically the flu vaccine is incapable of giving someone a flu. Furthermore, the flu vaccine doesn't vaccinate against strains of flu that give a tummy ache or runny nose; it's a vaccine against the really intense strains which tend to be the most deadly.
No one dies from the virus. People die from the complications of the virus. if we can't develop a vaccine soon, why not work on medications that lessen impact of infection so that people can develop their own anti-bodies. To me this is the ideal approach. My questions are rhetorical.

It's not a matter of "wanting to know".
If it comes out that 80% of the population already have the anti-body, then self-quarantine orders are useless since we've hit the herd immunity mark.
Also, the number of people who had COVID-19 would go up (perhaps significantly), which would reduce the mortality rate.

From what I understand, the virus can attack most, if not all internal organ and heart damage is a real possibility.

there's no resources to test every single person. furthermore, there's people that will go and mix with the population regardless of being infected.
the self-quarantine orders are not working because people don't do it. it's against our culture to behave this way.
we just have to get the virus [or not] and give people treatment if
they need it.
we arent smart enough to fight this so our bodies will have to do it.
