Has anyone else tried out LibreWolf as an alternative to Firefox?
It is billed as a more secure version of FF and is based off of the most recent code. I read a brief review about it and decided to try it out.
I might try it out again sometime but, for now, it has been apt removed.

The review was mostly about the security features... how a lot of
options that are not automatically defaulted to ON in FF are in LW.

I'll pass, but thank you for the forewarning and heads up. I pulled up the sit
to check it out, finished reading your post, and closed the window without reading anything. ;)

Since it's essentially Firefox, I found that there were no problems with movin
absolutely everything over to LF if you copy your Firefox profile data over to
LF. Works like a charm.
So you had to copy all of that over manually?
If you copy over all your profile data manually, aren't you also copying over all of the FF security settings, defeating the purpose of LF's supposedly more-secure defaults?

Sure... I copied the contents of one folder to the new folder.

No, I don't believe defaults get modified. If you've modified
settings in about:config, then they should be there.

How did you know which folders to copy over?
This is part of my frustration with it. It was able to find the
Chromium info to import... why couldn't it find the firefox info and
do the same?

you should have used the import feature.

you should have used the import feature.
Why, when copying a profile folder managed everything in one go?
because when it works, it works.

It appears that the import doesn't really exist for Firefox to
Librewolf.
chrome or edge and then use librewolf to import that.
also you can recommend that the developers import ff's profile.

i tried it. it's nothing special. go with brave.Brave? I tried that and didn't really like it. I thought that it was not the same as firefox. What were the issues that took you away from liking ff?

honestly I don't know why people use firefox. it has a bad history of being shitty and a memory hog. also they canceled one of their founders because h donated to something that was anti gay marriage.I was not aware of this. I have not noticed any memory hogging from it.
i guess you'd have to import your ff to chrome and then import it again into librewolf. but librewolf isn't really worth using. it says it focuses on privacy but you can just get a few good addons and use it with regular ff or just use chrome edge brave or opera.
.
Re: LibreWolf ?You should try using this mac os i am on . Most frustrating thing in the world to use. I so prefer open source and libre systems /s

[userprofile]AppData\Local Settings\Mozilla\Firefox
are where the files are
it's a browser dude. it's not that hard. export your ff shit to chrome or edge and then use librewolf to import that.
