From Alterego@VERT/ALTERANT to All on Friday, October 18, 2019 17:07:03
So I've seen two spam messages (on two different networks - not DOVE yet though) - and they appear to come from a single BBS.

That BBS is running SBBS - so I was thinking that the spam was coming from a web UI (I dont know for sure - but I couldnt image a person logging on to write those messages).

One of the spam messages is in FSX, and the other Retronet.

Anyway, if you see any strange activity then it would be good to identify how its happening so it can be nipped in the bud...

Which BBS? Did you let the sysop know about it? If the messages were posted via HTTP, then which Web UI the sysop is using and how up-to-date it is would be important info to have.

The origin line is this: * Origin: Veleno BBS -= http://www.velenobbs.net

I havent told the sysop (dont know who it is) - I'm assuming they would notice the activity.

    Not a safe assumption. :)

Maybe bug him with some details about the message. He might want to update his web UI (mine) as a matter of course, but I can't be sure that's really the problem.
